St Josephs Margies made a winning start in Premier Gold and threw up arguably the result of the season as they beat Pythons V.S.N 56-53 in a thrilling game at Pukekohe Netball Centre on Saturday.
The Margies made the jump up from Premier Silver after a perfect run through the qualifying round and made an immediate impact – handing the Pythons only their second loss all season.
Maramarua 1 comfortably accounted for Patumahoe Blue thanks to a 66-30 win while Tuakau 1 saw off the challenge of Patumahoe Teal with a 54-39 victory.
Fusion Alpha scored an impressive 51-40 win over Tuakau A in Premier Silver while Te Kohanga Pango made a successful start after coming up a grade as they beat Whitestar Phoenix 67-29.
Maramarua 2 easily beat Patumahoe White 63-32.
In Premier Bronze action, TK Rugby Gold managed to edge Patumahoe 1 in a close 21-19 game.
Maramarua A were too strong for Maramarua 3, taking a 31-19 victory while Patumahoe Yellow were too good for Fusion Warrior, securing a 24-20 win.
