The Manukau Magpies face a crucial Fox Memorial qualifier on Saturday when they take on the Hibiscus Coast Raiders at Stanmore Bay.
After an opening week loss and the prospect of having to beat Pt Chevalier Pirates in next weekend’s final qualifying round, the Magpies are basically at a must-win stage against the Raiders.
The Raiders spent last season in the Sharman Cup so the Magpies, who enjoyed their first season in the topflight, will see this as their game to win.
Elsewhere, the Papakura Sea Eagles host the Mangere Hawks at Prince Edward Park. Papakura can book a spot in the Fox Memorial proper with a win while the Hawks really need to jag a result to stay up.
The Otara Scorpions face the Otahuhu Leopards at Ngati Otara Park. The Leopards will secure a spot if they were to win while Otara looks likely to battle Mangere East for a spot in the premier division.
The Howick Hornets travel to Blockhouse Bay Reserve to face the Bay Roskill Vikings, knowing a win seals their spot.
