Northern Districts have added Counties Manukau and Manukau City fast bowler Scott Johnston to the men’s domestic contract list for the remainder of the 2022-23 season.
Counties-Manukau product Johnston has impressed in the Northern Districts A programme and made his first-class debut for the side at the end of last season. He replaces Anurag Verma who has been ruled out for the season due to injury.
“I’m super excited to be a part of the group for the summer ahead. It’s a good group of boys who have made this a seamless transition so far. Obviously, it’s not ideal circumstances with Anurag’s injury and I hope he has a smooth recovery,” said Johnston.
The new contract for Johnston provides head coach Graeme Aldridge with another pace bowling option for his squad and is further evidence of the development happening within the Association.
