Rain has wreaked havoc in local club cricket over the weekend while it has also forced the abandonment of the Fergus Hickey Rosebowl clash between Counties Manukau and Waikato Valley.

Counties Manukau still has matches to play against Northland and Bay of Plenty and will need to win both to have any chance of defending the title they won last summer.

Most games across the weekend in all senior grades were either washed out or rain affected.

The Manukau City Fearless X1 defended their total of 140 all out as they bowled Weymouth Wolves out for 131 in Senior A T20 action.

The Weymouth Eastern Kings won a low scoring contest against the Papakura Gladiators.

The Gladiators were bowled out for 42 and the Eastern Kings cruised to the total in the sixth over without the loss of a wicket.

The United Golden Royals were able to successfully defend their total of 177-6, keeping the Papakura Warriors to 152-8 in reply.

The United Marauders enjoyed a Duckworth Lewis win over Pohutukawa Coast in Senior B one-day action.

The Marauders posted 212-6 before restricting Pohutukawa Coast to 99-5 inside the 21st over.

Glenbrook Maramarua chased down the 107 all out Pukekohe Metro Gold had set them. They got there with two wickets to spare.

Pukekohe Metro Green were able to just secure a two-wicket win after they bowled Manukau Blue out for 77 and got to the target with two wickets remaining.

In the T20 grade, the Pukekohe Metro Punjab Tigers successfully chased down the revised target against Weymouth Grumpy Old Men. Weymouth posted 151-5 but Pukekohe Metro managed 114-1 in the 13th over to secure victory.

The United Pirates picked up a five-wicket win over Mauku after reaching the Mauku total of 122-3 in 18th over for the loss of two wickets.

The Sikh Games T20 competition heads into semi-final weekend with the top four teams from pool play confirmed for the knockout part of the competition.

Gryffidor, who topped Pool A standings, will face Pool D winners Homies XI in one semi-final, while Pitch Panther, who came out on top of Pool B will meet Pool C champs Chadra Punjab in the other knock-out contest.

The winners of this week’s fixtures will advance to the Grand Final next weekend.
