The EnviroNZ Franklin Bulls have been hammered 125-65 by the high-flying Wellington Saints in their final game of the SalsNBL season at Franklin Pool & Leisure Centre on Friday night.

The competition favourites dominated from the outset, showcased scoring from all parts of the roster and were deadly from beyond the arc as they blew the home team away.

Jamie Reddish’s side has fought valiantly the second half of the season after losing both of their imports by the mid-point as well as other starters.

Isaac Davidson led the Bulls with 15 points, 10 rebounds and three steals in a quality all-round performance while Jett Thompson had 11 points, six rebounds and three assists.

The Saints meanwhile had five players in double digit scoring in an offensive masterclass that will have their fellow Final Four opponents on notice.

“They are very talented and well coached,” Reddish told Counties Sports Hub. “I don’t know how many threes they shot tonight but it was in the high 20s and probably the most anyone has shot all season.

“We thought we played pretty good defense in the first quarter and they pump out 11 threes and we just have to live with that.

“They are a hell of a team and they shot the ball well.”

The Bulls finish their first full season in the league with a 5-13 record and good enough for eighth place.
