Pukekohe High School has finished 11th at the Basketball New Zealand Secondary School Championships in Palmerston North after beating Palmerston North Boys 77-59 in their final game.

It completes a superb tournament for the Jamie Reddish-coached side – their first ever appearance at the nationals.

After finishing tied for second in Pool D, Pukekohe was unlucky to miss out on countback from progressing to the quarter-finals.

On the way to their 11th place finish, Pukekohe High picked up wins over Rotorua Boys, St Bede’s College, Mt Roskill Grammar, St Thomas of Canterbury and Palmerston North Boys in an impressive effort.

They finished in front of big-name schools such as Napier Boys, St Kentigern College and Hamilton Boys.
