The EnviroNZ Franklin Bulls will be without guard Jayden Bezzant on the run to the Sal’s NBL playoffs after he was today named in the New Zealand Commonwealth Games team.

Bezzant is one of four players named to travel to Birmingham to represent New Zealand in the 3X3 basketball competition.

With fellow guard Corey Webster playing for the Tall Blacks tonight and likely to miss time with Asian Cup games in the coming weeks the Bulls have signed American import Giddy Potts for the remainder of the season.

The 26-year-old Potts played for the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders during his college career before going on to play in Italy and the Netherlands prior to signing with the South Auckland club.

The Bulls are currently in a three-way tie for sixth on the Sal’s NBL ladder.
