The EnviroNZ Franklin Bulls have gone back-to-back in the New Zealand Basketball League after they edged the Nelson Giants 75-69 in Waitakere on Tuesday night.

The win lifts the team to a 2-2 record in their inaugural season competing in the league and backs up their narrow win over the Auckland Huskies on Sunday.

Guard Isaac Davidson led the Bulls once again with 15 points but he got more help at the offensive end than in previous games with Sam Timmins (10 points), Nikau McCullough (11 points), Dom Kelman-Poto (10 points, 6 rebounds) and Jackson Stubbins (5 points, 10 rebounds) all chipping in.

The Bulls grabbed the initiative early and opened up a seven-point lead before the Giants clawed themselves back into the contest to trail by one point at halftime.

The Giants were within three points inside the final 90 seconds but the Bulls held on to secure their second victory of the campaign.

The Bulls’ next assignment sees them face the Otago Nuggets on Thursday night.
