The Manukau Magpies head to Paparoa Park to face the in-form Howick Hornets in this weekend’s round of the Fox Memorial Premiership.

The Magpies made a good start to their first full season in the top-flight but have found the challenge of playing at the highest level more challenging of late.

They lie in ninth spot on the ladder with two wins and a draw from their seven matches played.

The Hornets are in third spot.

The Mangere East Hawks face a tough ask in hosting the surging Papakura Sea Eagles at Walter Massey Park.

The Hawks are still searching for their first win of the season.

The Manurewa Marlins host the Pakuranga Jaguars in an all-Counties Manukau battle at Mountfort Park in Sharman Cup action.

Elsewhere, the Papatoetoe Panthers host the New Lynn Stags, while the Otara Scorpions are at home to the Ellerslie Eagles.

In Women’s Premiership action, the Howick Hornets visit the Otahuhu Leopards in an all-South Auckland battle while the league-leading Otara Scorpions travel to Victoria Park to play City Rugby League.
