Dan Power (92) and skipper Luke Williamson (90) have powered Karaka to a dominant position after the opening day of their crucial W.H Taylor Shield two-day cricket match against Pukekohe Metro at Karaka.

The home side posted 336 all out after winning the toss and batting in a match-up between the competition’s two leading sides.

Kurt Barnes and Reid Somani each took three wickets for Pukekohe Metro.

Pukekohe Metro were 30-2 at stumps.
