A thrilling final round of the W.H Taylor Shield gets underway on Saturday with three teams realistically in the race to be crowned champions.

Karaka remain in the driving seat, topping the table on 59 points – two clear of second-placed Weymouth – heading into the final round of matches.

Luke Williamson’s side faces Manukau City at Karaka in the final round – no easy task – but an outright result would almost certainly guarantee the Red another title.

Weymouth, who are just in their third season back in the top grade, meet third-placed Pukekohe Metro at Bledisloe Park in the deciding round.

A Weymouth win opens the possibility of jumping Karaka to claim the title, if Karaka cannot get a result.

With 52 competition points, Pukekohe Metro remains in the hunt as well – needing to beat Weymouth but also relying on Manukau City to topple Karaka.

Papakura hosts Southern Districts at Bruce Pulman Park in the battle between the fifth and sixth ranked sides.
