The 19U side produced their best performance of the season in beating the highly-fancied North Shore team 15-10 in the semi-finals of the Auckland Baseball Association competition.

They got a fantastic start out of representative star Taylor Irwin on the mound. The highly-rated youngster struck out 12 while giving up just two hits and two earned runs over six quality innings to set up the result.

A two-run home run by Dominic Elliott was a feature of the side’s offense.

They will now meet Orewa Sharks in the competition final on April 10.

The Counties 16U side squared off against Central City for the bronze medal in the Auckland Baseball Association, going down 6-5 in a hard-fought contest.

The 13U side played off for 5th and 6th against the Waitakere Bears. The Counties side came out on the wrong side of the score board and placed sixth out of 13 teams.

The Men’s Premier side finished the Auckland competition in seventh place.
