Counties Manukau representative Katene Clarke helped the Northern Districts Brave win the domestic Super Smash final at Seddon Park in Hamilton on Saturday night.

Clarke opened the batting and scored a blistering 71 off just 34 deliveries to set his side up for a big total.

He smashed eight fours and four sixes in his whirlwind innings as Northern Districts went on to post 217-5 off their 20 overs.

Fellow Counties Manukau player Jeet Raval, who captained the side, made nine batting at first drop.

Clarke took a pair of catches and was involved in everything in the field as Northern Districts restricted Canterbury to 161 all out in the 19th over.
