Pukekohe Park will host a Group 3 feature on Tuesday with the Melbourne Cup taking centre stage just after 5pm.
Some big name horses will be on display including Auckland Cup winner Platinum Invador, Counties Cup winner Aromatic, Cambridge Stud Zabeel Classic winner Defribillate and Queen Elizabeth II Cup winner Dionysus all on show.
Aquacade, winner of last season’s Avondale Cup, is the likely favourite.
The track is rated a soft 5 with light rain predicted in the late afternoon on race day.
The first of nine races begins at 12.20pm with the final race of the day just after 6pm.
