The Spark Regional Competition final was rained out during the change of innings on Saturday forcing a replay at a to-be-determined time later in the season.

Skipper Luke Williamson scored a brilliant 117 off 151 balls as Karaka posted 212-9 off their 50 overs after being sent into bat by Pukekohe Metro before rain stopped play at Bledisloe Park.

On a sticky wicket, Williamson survived the early onslaught before powering his side’s innings to a competitive total that might have been 20-30 runs above par.

His Pukekohe Metro counterpart Reid Somani was the best of the bowlers, taking 3-36 off his 10 overs. Blair Lovett (2-17) and Declan O’Brien (2-55) backed him up while veteran spinner Kurt Barnes was miserly, conceding just 24 runs off his 10 overs.

But during the change of innings the rain came, and no more play was possible.

Southern Counties and Manukau City’s Duthie Cup clash was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to some leaking covers and the pitch being too wet to play.

Weymouth completed a comfortable eight-wicket win over Papakura after bowling the visitors out for 78.

They made no game of it, easing to the target in the 13th over and losing only two wickets in the process.
