Paul and Mike Day have been confirmed as the new head coaches of the Franklin United men’s first team for 2024 and beyond.

The pair take over the reins of the local club that has just won up to the Men’s Championship next season on the back of an undefeated 2023 campaign.

Mark Holt, who has been coach for the past few seasons, moves into a different role as part of a longer-term plan the club has held.

The club posted the news on their Facebook page on Sunday.

“We are delighted to announce Paul and Mike Day as our 1st Team Coaches for next season. Paul and Mike are well known and respected in the football circles having both played parts in our historic 2023 season. They are perfect fits to continue the solid foundations put in place over the past few seasons. Both bring a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the club and are excited to build on the culture and success at the club.”

Franklin United has enjoyed a phenomenal season in 2023 and is well primed to make the jump up next year.

Holt is understood to have turned down head coaching jobs elsewhere to remain with the club in the Head of Football role where he will focus more on youth and junior football.
