New EnviroNZ Franklin Bulls head coach Morgan Maskell has confirmed his three assistant coaches for the 2022 SalsNBL basketball competition.

Former head coach Jamie Reddish, former SalsNBL player and 2021 assistant Joe Reddish and ex-Pakuranga College coach Sione Maama will serve as Maskell’s assistants next year.

“Getting the best people possible was key,” Maskell said. “We wanted really high character individuals who understand the ethos and vision of being of service to the people in the playing team.

“The staff we have hired all fit that criteria as well as providing expertise in areas of tactical knowledge, film/scout, skill development and experience at this level.

“When you learn the history of basketball in Franklin, and the history of the Bulls, Jamie is a guy held in high esteem in this community for all his tireless work establishing basketball in the region.

“Joe has played a few seasons in the SalsNBL and coached in the league in 2021. He has relationships with players and works very hard to develop his tactical knowledge and film ability. He is an excellent skill development guy.

“Sione has worked with SalsNBL players on their skill development for a number of years now, and has developed great relationships in the league due to the fact that he is an extremely high character individual.”

Maama grew up in South Auckland attending Pakuranga College and playing rep basketball for Counties Manakau.

In addition to the assistant coaches, Maskell has brought on two analysts with excellent basketball minds to the staff as Video Coordinators to assist. Joshua Davis and Roei Rotenberg will fulfil these roles with the EnviroNZ Franklin Bulls in 2022.
