Second half goals from Monty Patterson and Ronaldo Munoz haven’t been enough for Manurewa AFC as they lost to Wellington Olympic 5-2 in their National League opener on Sunday.

Playing their first match on the big stage at home at Jellicoe Park, the home side conceded an early goal but equalised shortly after half-time when Munoz found the back of the net.

They conceded a go-ahead goal moments later before Patterson drew the home side level again after 57 minutes.

But it was all Wellington Olympic from that point on as they added three further goals to secure victory.

Manurewa AFC faces a trip to Kiwitea Street to play Auckland City on Sunday.
