Karaka have been crowned W.H Taylor Shield winners for 2023-24 after securing an eight-wicket win against Manukau City on Sunday.

Rain washed out Saturday’s play at all three venues meaning the final round would become a one-day modified competition.

Karaka bowled Manukau City out for 94.

Lakshay Siwach took 4-8 while Navjot Sran claimed 3-36 as the home skittled Manukau City cheaply.

Marcel Marconi hit an unbeaten 80 off 53 balls to ensure his side reached the target for the loss of just two wickets to secure victory and make sure the two-day shield remains at Karaka Sports Complex.

Aryandeep Mann’s 101 helped power Weymouth to a comfortable win and secure the runner-up spot as they took honours against Pukekohe Metro at Bledisloe Park.

Mann’s century saw Weymouth post 209-9 batting first.

Pukekohe Metro were never in the hunt as Nav Aujla (4-23) and Rohit Kumar (3-30) took wickets at regular intervals.

The home side finished 121 all out.

Weymouth finish just behind Karaka on the points table.

Southern Districts finished their campaign on a high as they claimed a nine-run win against Papakura at Bruce Pulman Park.

After winning the toss and batting, Southern were rolled for just 81 as Satpal Singh took 7-28 in a terrific spell of bowling.

Andrew Goodare’s 30 helped Southern have a fighting chance before he then ran through the Papakura order to bowl his side to victory.

Goodare finished with 4-40 while Haydon Danford claimed 3-0 and George Williams 2-30 as Southern bowled Papakura out for 70.
