Is Clevedon Cricket’s T20 side about to get a massive boost in the form of a former Black Caps legend?

Adam Parore, who played 78 test matches and 179 one day internationals for New Zealand through the 1990s and early 2000s, has hinted about a return to playing competitive cricket after confirming his place in the Black Clash T20 game early next year.

The soon-to-be 50-year-old played his last international in 2002 and last competitive game in 2008 and has moved to a farm in Clevedon, where he owns a number of horses with his partner.

“I’m currently looking to rectify that with a few outings for the Clevedon T20 team,” Parore told NZME’s Spy over the weekend. “I’m expecting the wicketkeeping should be okay – the batting likely a stretch.”

Clevedon’s only senior team plays in the Counties Manukau Cricket Association T20 competition and currently sit in fourth place in the 12-team grade with four wins and two losses.

Parore scored over 6,000 international runs with three international centuries during his career.
