Counties Manukau’s Scott Dixon has won a second-straight Indycar race and his 55th all-time to keep his 2023 series chances alive at Gateway Raceway in St Louis.

Dixon produced yet another masterclass in fuel saving to come from 16th on the grid to claim one of the most dominant wins of his sublime career – beating the field by more than 20 seconds.

The Chip Ganassi Racing driver is now the only driver able to overhaul series leader – his Chip Ganassi teammate Alex Palou – with two races remaining.

Dixon trails Palou by 74 points with a maximum of 54 points available on any race weekend.

The series continues in Portland next weekend.
