Manurewa’s Scott Dixon has ranked third in the annual Autosport Magazine International Racing Driver of the Year Award.
The Indycars star won a remarkable sixth series championship in 2020 as the series battled COVID-19 interruptions.
He was one of four drivers listed as finalists for the top spot alongside Formula 1 stars Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen as well as Formula E champ Antonio Felix de Costa.
Hamilton was ranked number one for the sixth time in seven years and eighth time overall after winning his seventh Formula 1 drivers’ title to match the record of Michael Schumacher and eclipsing the German in overall race wins.
