Free agency for the 2022 SalsNBL begins today and the EnviroNZ Franklin Bulls will begin putting the pieces of their new-look roster together for a tilt at the title.

Imports and overseas-based Kiwis are ineligible to be signed in the first wave of free agency, which sees teams having to contract the best locally based talent. This tiered system will remain in place until it becomes clear imports are able to enter New Zealand and all teams can have equal access to them.

The Bulls will look much different to their 2021 version next year. They signed two impressive imports last season in former NBA star Josh Selby and athletic American big Zane Waterman while relying on Kiwi role players.

But injuries derailed both Selby and Waterman and the Bulls fell out of contention in the second half of the season.

Selby is unlikely to return while veteran guard Nick Fee has retired.

Counties Sports Hub understands the Bulls would love to bring back forward Denhym Brooke, who got better and better last season and they made him their 3X3 captain for the now-rescheduled tournaments in an effort to encourage him to extend his stay in Pukekohe.

Breakers swingman Isaac Davidson is expected to come back to the Bulls once his ANBL season finishes.

But the rest of the roster is a blank canvas.
