Centre Sam Timmins has inspired the EnviroNZ Franklin Bulls to a third straight New Zealand Basketball League win after they beat the Otago Nuggets 85-79 in West Auckland Thursday night.

Timmins double-doubled with 24 points and 12 rebounds and produced a dominant final quarter to power the Bulls home.

Guard Isaac Davidson, who had been the Bulls best player through the opening week and a half of the competition, had an unusually quiet night and contributed just 13 points.

Bench guard Nikau McCullough  added 14 points while and Dom Kelman-Poto had 13.

After dropping their first two games of the season the Bulls have won three-straight games to join the Canterbury Rams and Taranaki Mountainairs with the league’s best record.

The Bulls meet the Manawatu Jets on Saturday in their next outing.
