Ardmore Marist rugby club has successfully defended its national club sevens title at Bruce Pulman Park and retains the Middlesex County Wavell Wakefield Cup.

The home side, who get the right to host the annual tournament as current holders, proved too good for Northern United Rugby Club in the Cup final having accounted for Woodlands in the semi-finals.

They beat out a selection of provincial club champions from around the country in the process and have secured back-to-back titles.

Ardmore Marist will start the McNamara Cup in a couple of months as one of the competition favourites.
