Shane van Gisbergen has failed to finish his latest NASCAR Xfinity race in the United States, retiring with mechanical problems.
Van Gisbergen, who secured a break-through podium last weekend, struggled in qualifying and started Sunday’s race mid-pack at Las Vegas.
He started in 25th and didn’t gain any places before exiting the track shortly after a lap 14 caution.
“Tough one this weekend, had little things going wrong and ended after 20 laps with a motor issue,” Van Gisbergen said. “Was hoping to just log laps today and keep getting experience.
“Good thing is there is another one next week!”
