Bombay Rugby Club has confirmed the appointment of Michael Tuiloma as their Premier coach for the 2023 season.

The club made the announcement on their Facebook page Tuesday, confirming that he would take over the reins from Sam Aiono, who had held the position for the past two seasons.

“We would like to announce Michael (Big Mike) Tuiloma as the Bombay Rugby Club Premier Head coach for the upcoming 2023 season,” the post read.

“Mike has most recently been at Waipu Rugby Club for the past seven years winning two Northland Club trophies. He then took on the Head Coach job and made the Northland Club final this year. He also comes with a great coaching background from the following teams – PiR Men’s and Northland B’s.

“Mike’s family has been a huge part of the club for the past 10 years with both of his brothers playing 50+ games for the Premier team. Join us in welcoming Mike and his family to the club. We are looking forward to the upcoming season!”
Bombay narrowly missed out on making the McNamara Cup semi-finals this year, a last round loss to Pukekohe seeing their opponents sneak in ahead of them.
