The Franklin Bulls have added a talented youngster Jett Thompson to their 2021 National Basketball League roster on his 18th birthday.

The Westlake Boys product and New Zealand U15 representative got a small taste of the NBL last season when he played a brief cameo with the champion Otago Nuggets side during round robin play.

His acquisition is being championed as a coup for a Bulls side that has already secured former NBA player Josh Selby, American import Zane Waterman, Breakers squad member Isaac Davidson, talented Kiwi big man Matthew Freeman, Denhym Brooke, Nick Fee and Dillon Brooks.

“We believe Jett has all the tools to be successful at this level,” said Bulls assistant coach Morgan Maskell.

“He loves the game, has a desire to learn, and is self-motivated to get in the gym and work hard on his craft.

“Jett has a tremendous amount of potential and has all the skills, knowledge and desire to learn in order to be successful at this level. Jett is an exciting talent and understands the game and wants to play the right way.”
