The Northern Stars have slumped to their second defeat in as many days as they went down to the Mainland Tactix 47-40 in the ANZ Premiership on Sunday.

Less than 24 hours after falling to the league-leading Central Pulse, the Stars were unable to upset the third-placed Tactix at Auckland Netball Centre.

The Tactix got a superb shooting display from Ellie Bird who nailed all 37 attempts while Silver Fern Te Paea Selby-Rickit made 10 of 12 alongside her.

The Stars have now dropped three straight matches but remain in fourth place on the ladder.

They will look to bounce back next week when they face the Tactix again on Thursday night and then back up 48 hours later with a game against the Southern Steel.
