Maramarua 1 finished the grading round of Premier Gold in top spot after a 62-42 win over Pythons V.S.N in wintery conditions on Saturday.

It was a convincing performance from Jody McCort’s side. In a game that would have been the championship final last year had it not been for COVID, the Maramarua outfit came out on top in a battle between the two unbeaten sides through the opening round.

Patumahoe Blue secured third place with a 49-29 win over Tuakau A while Tuakau 1 claimed a 57-27 win over Maramarua 2.

In Premier Silver, St Josephs Margies completed an unbeaten opening round with a 57-47 win over Patumahoe Teal – a battle between the two leading sides in the grade.

Fusion Alpha beat Patumahoe White 48-35 to finish third while Patumahoe 1 beat Whitstar Phoenix 40-30.

Te Kohanga Pango secured top spot in Premier Bronze thanks to an impressive 37-14 win over second-placed Maramarua A.

TK Rugby Gold edged Maramarua 3 in a cliff-hanger 38-37 to secure third spot while Fusion Beta were too strong for Fusion Warrior 24-17.

Pukekohe Netball Centre has re-graded ahead of the Championship round. That has seen St Josephs Margies and Patumahoe Teal move up to the Premier Gold grade while Tuakau A and Maramarua 2 drop down to Premier Silver.

Te Kohanga Pango moves up to Premier Silver with Patumahoe 1 dropping to Premier Bronze.

Patumahoe Yellow makes the move up to Premier Bronze.
