Six local rugby league clubs will fight it out over the opening weeks of the club rugby league season to earn a spot in the Fox Memorial Premiership.

The Manukau Magpies, fresh off their first campaign in the Fox Memorial Premiership for many seasons, have been drawn in Pool B alongside champions Pt Chevalier Pirates, the Mt Albert Lions and Hibiscus Coast Raiders.

It is an all Counties Manukau Pool C with the Papakura Sea Eagles, Otahuhu Leopards, Mangere East Hawks and Otara Scorpions taking part.

The Howick Hornets are in Pool D alongside the Marist Saints, Bay Roskill Vikings and Northcote Tigers.

The top three in each pool will make it through to the Fox Memorial Premiership with the bottom placed team falling into the Sharman Cup.

The Manurewa Marlins, Papatoetoe Panthers and Tuakau Broncos have confirmed sides in the Sharman Cup already while it is likely the Pakuranga Jaguars and Pukekohe Pythons also enter sides.
