The South Auckland Raiders have hammered the Tamaki Lightning 36-6 in their 11-man American Football Auckland Association clash at Mountfort Park.

The win would have been more but the Lightning enforced the mercy rule to protect their players.

It sees the Raiders improve to 2-0 on the season.

They face the Papatoetoe Wildcats this coming weekend.

Meanwhile, the Takanini Giants have made it two from two after beating the Papatoetoe Wildcats 12-8 at Mountfort Park.

It backs up their opening week win.

The Giants have a bye this coming weekend.
