Pukekohe will need to beat Auckland giants Ponsonby this weekend if they are to make the semi-finals of the Coleman Shield.

The fifth-placed Pukekohe are four points adrift of Marist in the battle for the final semi-final berth and will need some help to overhaul them.

Pukekohe first need to take care of business against a side sitting second on the table at Cornwall Park.

If they were to get a victory, they would need fellow Counties Manukau side Papakura to do them a massive favour by beating Marist in their match at Massey Park.

Papakura got their break-through win last weekend.

Manurewa, who clinched a semi-final berth after beating Pukekohe last week, chase a home semi-final when they meet top-of-the-table College Rifles at College Rifles Park.

Patumahoe hosts Waitemata at Clive Howe Field in their Women’s 10s Top Six contest.

Weymouth have picked up a win by default against Marist.
