Patumahoe Prems netball team bowed out of the Pukekohe Netball Centre Premier Platinum grade over the weekend but they are already casting their eyes ahead to next season.

A comfortable win over Tuakau 1 means Patumahoe Prems finish the season in third place.

“Gutted we didn’t make finals – we have been making finals for the past three or four years,” Hayley Fitzgerald told Counties Sports Hub.

“Credit to Pythons and Maramarua, who have set the standard this whole year. We have had some good battles with them this year and wish them all the best in the final.”

While Patumahoe Prems are not in finals day action they have been contemplating what their 2022 season looks like.

Maramarua 1, Pythons 1 and Tuakau 1 all represented Pukekohe Netball Centre at the Regional Premier League and Counties Manukau Premier League competitions, mixing it with the best teams from the other major local centres.

Patumahoe Prems did not compete in either tournament despite clearly having the talent to match it there.

Fitzgerald confirmed that is something the team is talking about as they look ahead to next season.

“Yea it definitely is,” she said. “Unfortunately we couldn’t commit this year – we have a lot of shift workers in our team with the likes of nurses and police officers and other commitments.

“It was unfortunate we couldn’t enter our team.

“It is in the works and it is something we are talking about.”
