Patumahoe Prems and Maramarua 2 won for the second week running while Patumahoe Blue picked up their first win in Premier Gold action at Pukekohe Netball Centre last weekend.
Patumahoe Prems cruised to a 70-26 win over Fusion Alpha while Maramarua 2 beat Pythons 2 57-35 to improve their record to two from two.
Patumahoe Blue grabbed a 48-38 win over Tuakau A to ensure both sides moved to a win and a loss in the opening fortnight of action.
“The game was close for the first three quarters with no more than about two or three goals between us,” said coach Steph Graham.
“We were down by five heading into the final quarter and the girls played awesome in the those final minutes.
“We ended up with a 15-goal swing to win by 10.”
Graham feels the Patumahoe Prems side is cut above the other teams in the grade at present and the remaining teams are battling for second place.
“If we can end up second or third at the end of the first round, that will be our goal,” Graham said.
“We are playing Maramarua 2 this weekend and that should be a close game.”
St Josephs Margies beat Patumahoe Yellow 66-35 in Premier Silver action. Whitestar Phoenix collected a 52-31 win over Maramarua 3 while Patumahoe Teal edged Fusion Warrior 44-40.
In Premier Bronze play Maramarua A picked up a 31-25 victory over St Josephs A. TK Rugby Gold beat Onewhero Onyx 36-12 while Patumahoe 1 claimed a narrow 23-21 win over Bombay Gold.
