Local Counties Manukau Rugby stars Etene Nanai-Seturo and Sione Molia have helped the All Blacks Sevens team secure a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games.

The All Blacks Sevens side went down to Fiji 27-12 in the gold medal match at Tokyo Stadium on Wednesday night.

The Fijians made a fast start, jumping ahead to a 12-0 lead before the two sides exchanged tries in the first half. A Molia try dragged the All Blacks back into the contest just before the break with the score at 19-12.

But Fiji always had their noses in front and the All Blacks weren’t able to find a gear to get close to them.

The silver medal was the second on the day for New Zealand after Te Kauwhata’s Brooke Donoghue’s women’s double scull combination claimed a silver medal.
