Pukekohe rally driver Ben Hunt has won the Nelson Rally two weeks before he takes on the Pukekohe Car Club-run Maramarua Forest Rally.
Hunt, in his Skoda New Zealand Fabia Rally 2, was fastest on all seven stages of the event and won the rally by over three minutes.
Youngster Zeal Jones, who also hails from Pukekohe, was second in another impressive showing in his Subaru.
The two-time national champion, who hails from the Nelson region originally, is hoping to add a third 4WD title to his name across the last two events of the 2023 season.
He currently sits third in the standings behind Hayden Paddon and Raana Horan.
