The Takanini Giants have continued their impressive debut season in American Football Auckland Association play with a 14-0 win over the Tamaki Lightning in their 11-man opener.
The Giants, who made the final of the eight-man competition prior to Christmas, began their 11-man season in style with a win over their South Auckland rivals.
South Auckland Raiders beat eight-man champions Metro Lions 28-21 at Mountfort Park in the other game of the weekend.
The Giants face the Papatoetoe Wildcats next weekend while the Raiders face the Lightning.
