Giants come up just short in great debut season

The Takanini Giants American Football Auckland Association 11-man season has come to an end after a 21-0 loss to the Metro Lions on Saturday.

It means the Lions will go through to this weekend’s Kiwi Bowl final against the South Auckland Raiders.

The Giants have enjoyed a superb debut season however, making the final of the eight-man competition prior to Christmas and performing strongly in the 11-man competition. The Raiders had already qualified the week before.
