Onehunga Mangere United made the perfect start to their LOTTO NRFL Men’s Championship football season as they grabbed a 3-1 win away to Takapuna.

Aidan Price put the visitors up in the fourth minute before Takapuna drew level on the half hour mark.

Matthew Banks and Price added further goals to secure an opening day victory.

Manukau United began their 2024 campaign with a 3-3 draw with Mt Albert-Ponsonby at Anderson Park.

It didn’t come without a major scare however as they fell 3-0 down by the 55th minute.

Goals to Mohammed Shah and a double by Dylan Horgan, including one in the 90th minute, earned the visitors a point.

Franklin United found life challenging in their competition debut after being promoted last season. They fell to Hibiscus Coast 2-0 at Drury Sports Complex.
