Each week Counties Sports Hub has put together our CMCA form XI based on the Premier results through the season so far.

This week we select our dream team factoring in the entire season.

Rikesh Patel (Manukau City)
Patel was superb for Manukau City in the limited overs campaign – helping them to win the Inder Lynch T20 title while was a stand-out with bat and ball in the Duthie Cup. He has had limited involvement in the W.H Taylor Shield with age group and school cricket keeping him out. A player of huge promise.

Sam Varcoe (Karaka)
The Counties Manukau skipper has enjoyed another phenomenal season, leading Counties Manukau to the Fergus Hickey Rosebowl title as well as helping Karaka reach the final in all three formats. He scored big runs when it counted most and is a big reason for the region’s sustained success.

Sandeep Patel (Manukau City)
Patel has had a terrific all-round season with both Manukau City and Counties Manukau. He was a key performer, supporting cousin Rikesh in the T20 format before coming into his own since Christmas. He would have to be on the shortlist for the overall player of the season.

Luke Williamson (Karaka)
Williamson has enjoyed another fantastic season, backing up his MVP campaign from last summer. He scored runs at key times, almost single-handedly got Karaka to the final of the T20 competition and provided the match-winning innings in the Duthie Cup final. Weymouth will know what they have to do to cause an upset in the W.H Taylor Shield final this week.

Fraser Farrell (Pukekohe Metro)
The youngster is the latest of the Farrell family to make a name for themselves as one of the region’s leading cricketers. The teenager was a stand-out for Pukekohe Metro in a disappointing season by their standards. Farrell’s emergence, including a Counties Manukau debut, gives hope that the future at Bledisloe Park is bright however.

Aryandeep Mann (Papakura)
Another teenager star to announce himself onto the Premier and representative stage in 2021-22. Mann has been the shining light atop the Papakura order and impressed in a couple of opportunities with Counties Manukau. He looks set to be a long-time rep star and is the reason Papakura should be looking ahead to next season with optimism.

Scott Johnston (Manukau City)
Johnston was the region’s premier quick bowler and celebrated a terrific season with a first class call-up for Northern Districts. He won Manukau City the Inder Lynch T20 competition with a fine all-round display and has caused batsmen in the region to have sleepless nights.

Kurt Barnes (Pukekohe Metro)
Barnes was a consistent performer for Pukekohe Metro this season and was a key contributor for Counties Manukau in their run to the Fergus Hickey Rosebowl. His spin bowling proved deadly and economic while Barnes picked up some valuable runs at times.

Cameron Hardwick (Pukekohe Metro)
The Pukekohe Metro skipper will be disappointed with his side’s performances this season but Hardwick has continued to lead from the front none-the-less. The leg spinner was a regular wicket taker, was extremely miserly with the ball and helped Counties Manukau early in their campaign.

Andrew Goodare (Southern Counties)
Goodare just edges James Naylor in our Form XI on the back a brilliant season opening the bowling for Southern Counties. He consistently took wickets at the top in all three formats of the game and would have been in contention for a Counties Manukau call-up a couple of weeks back if not for having to isolate. His chance will certainly come however.

Haydon Danford (Southern Counties)
Danford burst onto the Premier scene this season with a massive bang. The talented teenager was a key part of Southern Counties’ success this year and he picked up so big scalps. His rep debut for Counties Manukau was the cherry on top – this kid can carry the merged entity and Counties Manukau a long way in the years ahead.

On the bubble – James Naylor (Manukau City), Manpreet Singh (Southern Counties), Dan Power (Karaka), Pankaj Kumar (Weymouth), Leon Marconi (Pukekohe Metro), Marcel Marconi (Pukekohe Metro), Reid Somani (Pukekohe Metro), Stan Skinner (Manukau City), Finn Williams (Southern Counties).
