The EviroNZ Franklin Bulls have finished the regular season in fifth place after suffering an 85-64 loss to the Canterbury Bulls in Waitakere on Saturday night.

It means the Bulls end their maiden regular season with a 7-7 record, which sets up a finals clash with the Taranaki Mountainairs on Wednesday night.

The Otago Nuggets topped the regular standings ahead of the Manawatu Jets, Auckland Huskies and Taranaki Mountainairs.

It just wasn’t there for the Bulls on Saturday as they fell behind the Rams, who were coming off a 10-game losing streak themselves.

Dominique Kelman-Poto paced the Bulls with 29 points but the loss will dent their confidence ahead of finals week after an impressive first season for the most part.
