Pukekohe Park Raceway will host the $500,000 Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Cup on Saturday with a big crowd expected.
First contested in 1874, the Auckland Cup is traditionally held at Ellerslie Racecourse but with the redevelopment work being done at the track, Pukekohe Park will stage the 2023 edition of the famous race.
Adding to the day is the Group 1 Sistema Stakes and the Group 1 Bonecrusher New Zealand Stakes.
In all there will be 10 races with the first taking place at 12.45pm and the last one scheduled to start at 6.15pm.
The Auckland Cup will run at approximately 5.30pm.
It is the last meeting of the season at Pukekohe.
