The Weymouth Mighty Kings produced arguably the performance of the weekend as they thrashed the Papakura Royal Kings by a whopping 375 runs in Manchester Shield Pool 1 Senior A action on Saturday.

Batting first, Weymouth posted a terrific 403 all out – Jaspreet Singh scoring 165 off 116 and Bhatti Shehbaz Bhatti making 110 off 76.

Balpreet Singh’s 6-13 saw Papakura all out for a paltry 28 in reply.

Manukau City Fearless X1 proved too good for Manukau City Gryffindor.

The Gryffindor were bowled out for 151 before the Fearless X1 got to the target nine down.

Opening batsman Lakhwinder Singh’s unbeaten 76 ensuring the Fearless X1 got over the line in a tight contest.

Over in Pool 2 Southern Counties came up just short against the Weymouth Eastern Kings in a terrific game at Mountfort Park.

Weymouth made 180 all out and then bowled Southern Counties out for 177 in a cliff-hanger of a game – top scorer Manpreet Singh was the last man dismissed for 73.

The Weymouth Wolves successfully chased down Papakura Heat’s 215 to win their contest by six wickets.

Unbeaten half centuries from Jaivir Singh Batth and Oscar Taylor setting up the win.

The Papakura Blues scored a four wicket win over Pukekohe Metro Green.

After bowling out Pukekohe Metro for 159, the Blues reached the target in the 34th over for the loss of six wickets.

In Senior B Championship action the Papakura Heat won a low-scoring affair against the Weymouth Wolves by two wickets.

There were five ducks and a nought not out in the Weymouth innings of 125 all out. The Heat took their time in reaching the target but managed to do so with a pair of wickets in hand.

The Papakura Dinosaurs beat Tuakau by 63 runs in their clash. Charlie Hastings continued his run of scoring, with 61 as Papakura made 259-7.

The Dinosaurs then bowled Tuakau out for 196.

Pukekohe Metro beat Pohutukawa Coast by seven wickets after successfully chasing 197-8.

Steve Deane’s century negated by a ton from Blair Partington in response.

Over in the Senior B Plate competition United thumped Waiuku by eight wickets.

Callum Vincent took 4-12 to help skittle Waiuku for 90. Opener Ryan Herkt then helped United cruise to the target with 38 not out.

The Papakura Warriors scored a 218-run win over Weymouth while Karaka proved too strong for Manukau City Blue, claiming a 59-run win.

Glenbrook Maramarua made a dominant start to the T20 Championship round, beating the Pukekohe Metro Punjab Tigers by six wickets.

The Pukekohe Metro Potent Punjabis edged the Tuakau Turkeys by three wickets while Clevedon beat Manukau City Red by five wickets.

In Plate action Weymouth Grumpy Old Men hang on to secure a narrow 2-run win over Pukekohe Metro Fresh Connection.

Waiuku proved too strong for Mauku – claiming a 35-run win while United held off Weymouth Hardly Athletic by 18 runs.
