For the second weekend running the men’s and women’s Counties Manukau Stingrays teams have won their respective NZRCL Premiership matches.
The Stingrays men prevailed 36-20 over the Otago Whalers at Massey Park in Papakura.
They had to work for their second straight win to open the Men’s Premiership season, after going to the break with a narrow 12-8 lead. But a strong second half showing saw the Stingrays ease to another victory.
The Women’s Stingrays also had to work hard for their 24-14 win over the Wellington Orcas.
They held a narrow two-point advantage at halftime before holding on to secure a second straight victory.
