Waiuku has confirmed their McNamara Cup coaching line-up for the 2022 season with Dion Cassidy named as head coach and Andy Dawkins as assistant.

Cassidy has been in charge of the club’s U21s for the past few seasons and makes the jump up to the top job in 2022, taking over from Peter Nock, who has been forced out due to other commitments.

Dawkins has coached the club’s U85kg team recently but has plenty of experience as a head coach, helping Waiuku win the McNamara Cup for the first time in 2000.

Tara Coe will serve as the team’s manager.

Waiuku narrowly missed the top five playoffs in 2021.

Meanwhile the club will enter a Championship side in 2022 with good numbers confirmed, giving the Premier side another feeder team.
