Papakura have given themselves a good chance of securing first innings points against Pukekohe Metro after the opening day of the latest round of the W.H Taylor Shield.

The visitors won the toss and opted to bat first at Bledisloe Park, scoring 226 on the back of a fantastic 122 not out from batsmen Shane Setia.

Ishaan Jain (44) and Shubham Handa (39) shared in partnerships with Setia to help propel their innings.
