Long-time Counties Manukau Touch representative and renowned community ambassador Tom Shelford has sadly passed away.

Counties Manukau Touch Association confirmed the news with a touching tribute on their social media channels on Sunday.

“With the blessing of his whānau – Counties Manukau Touch Association is heartbroken to share the news of the passing of Thomas (Tom) Jodine Shelford,” the post read.

“Much loved father of Talon, Tyquin, Tommy & Tre, Tom was a passionate and widely respected member of our Counties Touch community. For many, many years – he served our province and gave so much to the game in our rohe.

“He will be missed by all of us. A great Man. A loyal & experienced student & stalwart of Touch. We send our aroha to Tom’s whānau, especially his tamariki.”
