Karaka batsman Dan Power brings up 100 Premier games for the club today as they take on Papakura at Karaka Sports Complex.

The milestone has been a long time coming with Power spending significant time out of the area throughout his playing career.

Power debuted for Karaka in 2007 before heading south to Dunedin to study. He played Otago U19 and came back and played for Karaka whenever he could.

During his Karaka career he has amassed approximately 3,500 runs (top five in club history) and taken 73 wickets. Power is the only Premier player to be on the honours board for six fielding dismissals who wasn’t a wicket-keeper.

He held the record for the fastest International T20 Century for Peru, worked for Virtual Eye who ran the ball tracking for Australia and New Zealand Internationals

“Not only is Dan an extraordinary talent who contributes immensely to our senior squad and premier team with the bat, the community culture that he garners off the field is truly significant,” said Karaka Cricket Club president Caity Beattie.

“He’s a valued member of our committee, has coached our juniors, and this milestone is a real representation of his commitment to the Karaka Cricket Club. We are so excited to celebrate with him today.”
