Pukekohe Rugby Club awarded life membership to three long-serving members at their recent Annual General Meeting while a new President has also been confirmed.

Billy “Hammer” Hammond, Anthony “Dutchie” Wijdeven and Kevin McQuoid were all awarded the honour.

Hammond has served as manager for various teams dating back to 1986 and is described as: “a true trooper whose work behind the scenes often goes unnoticed.”

Wijdeven has been on the administration committee for 30 years and has served in various roles including two terms as Club President while he has been the delegate for the past 13 years.

McQuoid has been a physio with the club since the late 1980s and has been involved with provincial, Super Rugby, Sevens and All Blacks throughout that time.

Meanwhile John Hume has been confirmed as the club’s new President.
